Moisturizing Agents: Water is the most abundant ingredient, followed by moisturizers. These include various small-molecule polyol moisturizers such as glycerin, propylene glycol, and butylene glycol; high-molecular-weight moisturizers such as hyaluronic acid; and other non-polyol moisturizers such as amino acids, collagen, and sodium PCA.

Preservatives: Many moisturizing masks contain sensitizing preservatives, specifically parabens, which include methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, and butylparaben. Less commonly used preservatives include chlorphenesin, quaternium-15, and sodium dehydroacetate.

Viscosity Adjusters: Viscosity adjusters are primarily used to make moisturizing masks thicker and more viscous. Common viscosity adjusters include carbomer, xanthan gum, hydroxyethyl cellulose, and acrylates.

Plant extracts: Plant extracts are a crucial ingredient in moisturizing masks, often advertised as such. Common examples include aloe vera leaf extract, cucumber extract, seaweed extract, green tea extract, ginseng extract, licorice root extract, cactus flower extract, and angelica extract.

Soothing ingredients: Highly effective moisturizing masks often contain highly permeable ingredients, which can introduce external irritants into the skin, causing irritation. Commonly used soothing ingredients in sheet masks include licorice root extract, bisabolol, allantoin, and centella asiatica extract.

PH-regulating ingredients: pH-regulating ingredients are used to adjust the pH value of the essence, ensuring the moisturizing mask ingredients remain stable within a suitable pH range. Common examples include triethanolamine, citric acid, potassium hydroxide, lactic acid, sodium hydroxide, and amino acids.
